Our Client a leading provider of facilities maintenance and support services in the built environment has an immediate requirement for a Head of Projects to work in London
The project are varied and include anything from chillier replacements, new fire alarms and sprinklers systems to large fit-out and refurbish works. Their Clients include large Blue Chip commercial office and some Public Sector PCT.
You will have responsibility for sales/service delivery, manage up to 3 project managers and have extensive Building Services industry knowledge and a strong sales background. The suitable candidate will develop project opportunities, ensuring projects are secured and then delivered by the project team to meet time and budget requirements and to exceed client expectations.
1. Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities and in delivering contractual commitments on secured projects.
2. Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of projects are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability.
3. To deliver projects to completion on time and on budget and to the satisfaction of all parties, expectations to be exceeded wherever possible.
4. To identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with each and every project.
5. Ensure compliance with project management policies and procedures.
6. Company health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented across internal and subcontractors activities and are regularly reviewed on each and every project. This will include the timely delivery of a Health and Safety file for the works and full compliance with CDM regulations.
7. To build strong relationships with subcontractors, in particular preferred suppliers, to ensure cost effective solutions which meet our quality expectations and can be delivered to clients whilst managing the risk and ensuring back to back terms and conditions.
8. Working with other operational managers to ensure the collaborative development of the projects business with effective team working and support of colleagues.
9. Development of project financial plans for revenue and profit delivery.
10. Ensure positive cash flow through the upfront agreement of a relevant payment schedule and the submission of timely invoices/applications of payment. Ensuring all debt is controlled below 45 days.
11. Maximise profit through cost reductions and better buying of subcontractor services.
12. Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
13. Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts and the site teams/managers to identify and win project opportunities.
14. Promoting and maintaining the core Values
15. Delivering effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other applications as appropriate.
16. Supporting the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings.
Accountabilities
1. Reporting to a Business Unit Director.
2. Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.
3. Financial responsibility for the delivery of the Business Unit plan commitments for the Project portfolio.
